What to Expect on Sunday
Arrival and Parking
As you arrive on Sunday morning, you will probably notice first that we have several buildings. The Sanctuary is located on the north side of Mansfield Street and you will find guest parking designated in front of this building. Greeters and ushers are available in this area and can answer your questions about our services, ministries and facilities. The Education Building is on the south side of Mansfield and houses our preschool, children and adult education ministries, Wednesday night dinner and our office suite.
If you are a student, you will want to stop by the "N-fo Cart" and pick up a current newsletter for students and parents with helpful hints and event information. This is also a great place to meet someone who can help you make your way to our Student Center located one block north on Union Street.
You can also find additional parking in a lot off Ellis Street just south of Mansfield Street. This parking lot is especially convenient if you have a young preschooler. In fact, our newly renovated nursery suite is located just inside the Ellis Street entrance to the education building.
Worship
You will have two options for worship on Sunday morning. Our 9:00 Praise & Worship service features contemporary praise music led by our own worship band, Vertical Window. Dress is casual, so feel free to leave the suit and tie at home. The 10:30 service takes on a more blended feel and features a variety of hymns and choruses accompanied by orchestra, ensembles and a full choir. Bible Study Fellowship
At the same time worship is going on in the Sanctuary, Bible Study Fellowship groups are meeting in the Education Building. Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) groups are simply people of all ages who come together on Sunday morning to connect with God and one another through Bible study. As we study, we grow in our faith and have the opportunity to serve others in our groups and community. BSF is the place to go if you want to connect with others who share your experiences of life. You might say that BSF groups are "caring communities who are learning to live God's truths in all our relationships."
There are groups for all ages, from birth to adult, and are organized around life stages. Greeters will help you find just the right group.
You can also count on the fact that our BSF leaders will not call on you to read or pray aloud. However, you should also feel free to join in the discussion at any time.
