We are now praying for God's continued leadership as we move forward in expanding our boundaries. Expanding the Boundaries is the mission of First Baptist Church to enlarge the Lord's ministry by building our church. The vision statement for this endeavor is as follows: As God works through the sacrificial giving of our church, we will expand our facilities, which will maximize our ability to reach people, both here, and beyond the boundaries of our community. Identified as the first goals of this undertaking are creating more room for the preschool, children, and student ministries, which are exceeding space capacity, as well as the creation of a Music Suite, to house the choirs and orchestra for rehearsal and storage needs. In September of this year, First Baptist was blessed with the acquisition of the United Way property, which is opposite the sanctuary on the Union Street side. Needless to say, we are excited about the affirmation God has given through this opportunity.

In Spring, 2009, the ETB Steering Committee recommended that the church employ Injoy Stewardship Solutions as a partner to design a capital stewardship campaign for our church family. Sensitive to the needs of families in the current economic climate, the local Body at FBC has begun a three year spiritual journey together, confident that as the church body grows in faith, not only will the people continue to tithe obediently, but they will also give sacrificially. On March 29th, in the two morning worship services, that recommendation was affirmed by our people, and so, the journey begins.

After several months of planning, preparation, and prayer, FBC is launching the educational and devotional stewardship awareness emphasis. Beginning September 27th, there will be four consecutive weeks of pastoral messages, Sunday morning group studies, corporate prayer meetings, and individual devotional times facilitated through materials created specially for and distributed to our people. After this time of Biblical study and prayer, the church family will be asked to make a three year stewardship commitment. Additionally, in early November, we will celebrate a First Fruits Sunday, allowing our people to make a special donation as a sign of their commitment to support the Lord's work at First Baptist Brunswick.
