Haiti Relief Efforts
On Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at around 5:00pm, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 struck the southern portion of Haiti near the capital city Port-au-Prince. The earthquake caused severe destruction and damage throughout the area and is considered to be a catastrophe for Haiti.
Many agencies/organizations have quickly assembled emergency relief response for many of the Haitian men, women and children devastated by the powerful 7.3 earthquake. After communicating with workers presently on the field, and after reviewing numerous correspondence from the International Mission Board (IMB), Florida Baptist Convention, and MAP International, First Baptist Brunswick will respond to the crisis in Haiti as follows.
GIVE BY PRAYING...
Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while he is near (Isaiah 55:6). How can we help the people of Haiti? Pray. Get on your knees before our Savior and pray that in the middle of devastation, destruction, and disorder that His name will be honored and glorified. Pray that in the midst of such tragedies that the Haitian people would cry out to God and that He would heal their land.
